Gabriel Flechas has published his paper, Validation and moisture content sensitivity analysis of cross-laminated timber wall assemblies in EnergyPlus in Volume 108 of the Journal of Building Engineering.
Gabriel is a fifth-year Ph.D. student whose research focuses on harnessing the thermal mass and moisture buffering properties of cross-laminated timber (CLT) buildings to reduce energy use and peak demand. He quantifies these effects through OpenStudio building energy models and field studies.
He holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, a B.S. in Business Administration – Finance, and an A.S. in Engineering from Union College (NE).
