ASHRAE and AMBER students congregating for the annual ASHRAE Winter Conference

January 31 – February 4, 2026 | Las Vegas, Nevada

We’re thrilled to share that members of the AMBER Lab recently made the trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, to attend the 2026 ASHRAE Winter Conference — one of the most anticipated events in the HVAC&R world. And we didn’t go alone.

Joining us were fellow students and members of the Colorado School of Mines ASHRAE Student Chapter, making this a truly collaborative experience that brought together research, professional development, and community in one unforgettable week.

A World-Class Event in the City That Never Sleeps

Held at Caesars Palace and the Las Vegas Convention Center, the 2026 Winter Conference delivered on every front. With over 100 technical sessions covering cutting-edge topics in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, there was no shortage of opportunities to learn, engage, and connect with industry leaders from around the globe. The co-located AHR Expo — the world’s largest HVAC&R exhibition — brought over 1,700 exhibitors under one roof, giving our team a front-row look at the latest technologies shaping the built environment.

For the AMBER Lab, conferences like this are more than just a calendar event. They’re a chance to ground our research in real-world context, discover what challenges practitioners are actively solving, and begin conversations that can lead to meaningful collaborations.

Made Possible by Our Chapter and Our Community

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support behind us. Attendance fees for our student members were covered through a combination of Colorado School of Mines ASHRAE Rocky Mountain Chapter fundraising efforts and generous donations from industry partners and companies who believe in investing in the next generation of engineers.

To every company and individual who contributed — thank you. Your support sent students to a conference that will shape the trajectory of their careers, and that kind of investment in people pays dividends far beyond any single trip.

Looking Ahead

Stay tuned for more updates from the AMBER Lab, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re curious about our research or want to learn more about getting involved with the Colorado School of Mines ASHRAE Rocky Mountain Student Chapter.
